The forever letter
I didn't choose this life, it. choose me
Never did I expect to fall into the realm I live in, it happened to choose me. I was a fresh college dropout perusing the arts. I was sleeping on a friend’s couch in West Hollywood about to be out on my ass. A few friends of mine suggested the adult film industry since my family is nothing but chaos, but thats for another post later. I had no money, couldn’t afford food, or housing. So I started deep diving in my research on it.
I didn’t think twice about knowing that the internet is forever, I just needed money and fast money.Fast money always comes with a cost, I learned what that cost was through the years. The adult film industry is not for the thinned skin, it follows you for the rest of your life. The one thing I see that we lack as an industry period is laying down the truths of the business before the new people discover it way too late. My experience once everything was published on the net was a whirlwind. My entire graduating class & the classes around me knew, it spread like wildfire. It wasn’t long before it got to my family, I was called every single name in the book.
We glamorize this industry way too much, the truth is it’s extremely hard and it only gets harder as new trending platforms release putting what’s out there in fierce competition. One thing you need to know before signing up is; Yes, the internet is forever. Yes, your peers and family will find out. So ask yourself is this something you really want to do that will change your life forever either succeeding or not? A small percentage of the industry become extremely successful and it’s not easy either. I tell everyone that thinks about joining to really think about it and what the possible consequence are. I will be the many to tell you, dating is extremely rough in this industry and you will cross a lot of leeches in your own backyard.
The possibility of burnout is high and it will eventually hit you, there’s day where honestly it’s pretty hard to motivate myself. I have really bad social anxiety which makes it challenging sometimes to work and exist in this business. At the end of the day I’m personally grateful for this industry and how it’s provided me so many things in my life I wouldn’t have or have done if it’ wasn’t for this industry to give me a platform to stand on. Everyone has their own personal experience in this business, some good and some bad. But adult content is something you need to ask yourself if you are sure about, because it does and will strain your mental and emotional health sometimes. Also too this business is very physical, you’re basically a naked pro athlete if you’re not a pillow princess.
